Location: San Francisco, or New York City
About WorkWhile:
WorkWhile is an AI-powered marketplace dedicated to empowering the flexible workforce. We connect skilled workers with meaningful opportunities, providing tools and resources to help them thrive. Our mission is to build the future of flexible work, where finding a job is seamless and managing your finances is effortless.
The Opportunity:
We are seeking a highly innovative and entrepreneurial Product Manager to lead the development of our worker-facing app and a groundbreaking integrated financial experience. This is a critical role that will define the core engagement for our flexible workforce, extending beyond job discovery to encompass a full suite of financial services designed specifically for their needs. You will be instrumental in building a product that not only helps workers find jobs but also delights them by providing a compelling, embedded banking experience to manage the financial wellness of the workers.
Your North Star: Every flex worker is in the WorkWhile app to get a job and is delighted by being banked, debt-free, Fee-Free.
What You'll Do:
Own the Worker App & Financial Experience: Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for the WorkWhile worker app, with a primary focus on integrating a highly innovative credit union-like experience directly into the labor marketplace.
Deeply Understand the Flex Worker: Conduct extensive user research, interviews, and data analysis to uncover the unique financial pain points and aspirations of flexible workers. Translate these insights into compelling product features and solutions.
Innovate & Disrupt: Design and launch financial products and features that directly compete with leading consumer fintech apps (e.g., instant payments, budgeting tools, credit building, savings, lending, and unique benefits tailored to flex work).
Seamless Integration: Ensure the financial experience is deeply embedded and intuitively linked to the job search, application, and payment workflows within the WorkWhile app, creating a unified and delightful user journey.
Partnership Management: Collaborate closely with Fintech and banking partners to ensure compliance, leverage their expertise, and align on product development and service delivery.
Define and Analyze Metrics: Establish clear KPIs and metrics for success, continually monitoring product performance and iterating based on data-driven insights. Drive user acquisition, engagement, and retention within the app.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Work collaboratively with engineering, design, data science, operations, legal, and marketing teams to bring your product vision to life.
Competitive Analysis: Stay abreast of the competitive landscape in both the gig economy and fintech spaces, identifying opportunities and threats to inform product strategy.
Evangelize the Vision: Articulate the product vision and strategy internally and externally, fostering a shared understanding and excitement for the future of the worker app and financial experience.
What You'll Bring:
5+ years of product management experience, with a strong track record of launching successful consumer-facing products.
Demonstrated experience in fintech or financial services products (payments, banking, lending, etc.) is highly preferred. Experience competing with neobanks like Cash App or Chime is a significant plus.
Proven ability to conduct user research, analyze data, and translate insights into actionable product strategies and features.
Strong understanding of mobile app development and user experience best practices.
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organization.
A strong bias for action and a desire to build, iterate, and learn rapidly.
A passion for empowering workers and improving their financial well-being.
Experience working with or managing relationships with financial institutions or credit unions is a bonus.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Business, Economics) or equivalent practical experience.
